Stories of the 2007 NFL Draft
- Notre Dame star quarterback Brady Quinn fell to the pick number 22 of the draft before being picked by the Cleveland Browns. Quinn was expected to be drafted with one of the top ten picks of the draft.
- Oakland Raiders talented, but troubled wide receiver Randy Moss was traded to the New England Patriots for the first of New England's two forth round draft picks. The Raiders used the pick to draft University of Cincinnati cornerback John Bowie.
- For the last five years the Detroit Lions have drafted a wide receiver with four of their six first round picks. The Lions continued that trend by drafting star Georgia Tech wide receiver Calvin Johnson with the second pick of the draft.
- Winning quarterbacks not being drafted high, or drafted at all: the 2006 Heisman Trophy winner, Ohio State University quarterback Troy Smith was not picked until the 174 pick, while University of Florida quarterback Chis Leak (who won the National Championship) was not drafted.
