The Hippocratic Oath prohibited abortion hundreds of years prior to Christianity:

... I will not give a lethal drug to anyone if I am asked, nor will I advise such a plan; and similarly I will not give a woman a pessary to cause an abortion. ...

For decides this Oath of Hippocrates was recited by thousands of medical students upon graduation. But as liberals took control of higher education in the latter half of the 20th century, by the year 2000 only one American medical school (State University of New York Upstate Medical School in Syracuse) was still using the full oath that prohibits abortion.[1]
