Action Comics is a monthly comic book published by DC Comics. It started publication in June 1938, and has been running to the present day ever since, making it one of the oldest continuously-published comic books.(Only Detective Comics, also by DC Comics, holds this distinction.)
Action Comics is known for being the comic in which Superman first made his appearance. Originally, it was a comic anthology, with stories featurng other characters beside Superman, most prominently Zatara the magician, it now exclusively focuses on Superman.
