Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani (August 25, 1934-January 8, 2017) was an Iranian ayatollah and businessman. From 1989 to 1997 he was the president of Iran. Argentina issued an arrest warrant for Rafsanjani after it was revealed that he gave the order to bomb a Jewish community center in Buenos Aires in 1994.[1] Former Iranian president Abolhassan Banisadr also accused Rafsanjani of personally ordering the murders of four Kurdish politicians at the Mykonos restaurant in Berlin in September 1992.[2]
