Resources

Valuable resources to use are below. Public domain .gov sites can be directly copied without attribution. You can search for US government sites with the Google US Government search engine here: http://www.google.com/ig/usgov. Each new entry should have a category label at the bottom with double brackets around category:_____

Pictures make entries much more appealing and increase their quality significantly. The images on US Government sites are in the public domain.

A great way rake in points is to add working links to the American Government Lectures! They are creaming us! We have got to catch up! --~BCSTalk2ME 17:58, 12 November 2007 (EST)

Discussion

Mr. Schlafly, can I get image upload rights, and maybe late night editing privs to help us in the contest please? Luke 20:36, 12 November 2007 (EST)

OK, I'll give you uploading rights now. I don't think this is necessary, but please be forewarned: teenagers use this cite and we report any misuse of uploading privileges to post inappropriate material. Thank you.--Aschlafly 21:19, 12 November 2007 (EST)

Thank you so much. I promise that I will only upload to improve the site. Thanks again. Luke 21:23, 12 November 2007 (EST)

Hi all, I just got home for the day, but I'll be out for a little more, so look for the bulk of my contributions later tonight! I just found this resource on ancient history. Much if not all of it is public domain, from a 19th-century encyclopedia of ancient history terms. Could be a lot of quality edits/ordinary new articles in this. Please tell me what you think, and if you like it, I'll probably work a lot from this tonight!-MexMax 17:15, 13 November 2007 (EST)

How many point do copy gov site pages count for? Please tell me if you know! --~BCSTalk2ME 17:25, 13 November 2007 (EST)

I think we've been giving them full credit, have we? I'd be open to not doing so, but so far, I think it's been "full credit" understood.-MexMax 17:26, 13 November 2007 (EST)

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT'S GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE SHALL CREAM THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *EVIL GRIN* --~BCSTalk2ME 17:30, 13 November 2007 (EST)

True story! Hey, Bethany (or should I call you BCS?), could you look at the source I posted and tell me if you think it's a good copy source? I don't want to start something like that without getting another editor's go-ahead. What sources are you thinking of using?-MexMax 17:31, 13 November 2007 (EST)

You can call me Beth, Bethany, BCS, Claire... I will look at the site. I think that I will use this it probably has the most info. I'll be back after looking at your site! --~BCSTalk2ME 17:35, 13 November 2007 (EST)

Um...I'd be really careful. Have you seen this page? You may just want to drop that site. Otherwise read that page from top to bottom. --~BCSTalk2ME 17:40, 13 November 2007 (EST)

Yeah, I saw that, but I think a lot of the text (the only thing I'm able to upload) is non-copyrighted, so long as it has a (*) in the name. But I think I'll keep looking... do you have any suggestions for a better copy source? That was the best I've found. I've been searching using this list (I know it's Wikipedia... just looking for a jumping off point :-) !!) but a lot of those aren't actually public domain.-MexMax 17:47, 13 November 2007 (EST)

What do you want it on? .gov websites are always pub. domain because they are funded by the people. --~BCSTalk2ME 17:49, 13 November 2007 (EST)

Beware, however, that state .gov sites are not necessarily public domain. Only federal government sites are almost always public domain.--Aschlafly 17:57, 13 November 2007 (EST)
I'd be happy for anything that'd help Conservapedia. I found this but I don't know how helpful information about 18th century congressmen would help... I think I'll use that to make bios of speakers of the house.-MexMax 17:52, 13 November 2007 (EST)
Looks good, MexMax. Go ahead and use it! The entries can then be improved by others who see it.--Aschlafly 17:57, 13 November 2007 (EST)

Same here! And are we counting it as a regular entry Mr. Schlafly? --~BCSTalk2ME 17:58, 13 November 2007 (EST)

Thanks for the go-ahead! I hope to beat my score of 94 from yesterday; I think this will help. Then I can contribute original content afterwards. Bethany, thanks to you too, I really appreciate it!-MexMax 17:59, 13 November 2007 (EST)

No prob. LOL...let's beat them!!!!!!! --~BCSTalk2ME 18:00, 13 November 2007 (EST)

Sorry for being gone so long!

Sorry for being gone until just now, Andy & other Timberwolves, but it looks like I'll be adding a bunch of points pretty soon, right up to your midnight, so I'll still have a lot for Tuesday, and more for tomorrow. Just out of curiosity, I'm wondering if I may ask for "edit" rights too. I may have gotten to it late, but I plan to be at it late, too... I will understand, however, if as a new player you'd prefer to reserve trusting me with any additional responsibility.-MexMax 23:40, 13 November 2007 (EST)

Great to see you working
Request granted, MexMax!! You have night editing privileges now. Please keep at it! Godspeed.--Aschlafly 00:00, 14 November 2007 (EST)

Thanks so much! You can count on it.-MexMax 00:02, 14 November 2007 (EST)

Speaking of being gone so long, I may be out of town this evening. Plans are subject to change, but I just thought I'd let you guys know I might be inactive today. Greg 07:53, 14 November 2007 (EST)

Bragging

Dewey has been blocked. DeborahB. and TheGuy have yet to be able to start the contest. DoubleEdge has declined to be on the team. The other team also has two more players. But we have worked our tails off! We're behind, but nearly averaging 100 points per player higher than the Supply Siders! LearnTogether hasn't counted his points yet, but at the rate MexMax is going right now, we're certainly still in this. Great work so far, everyone. Greg 23:58, 13 November 2007 (EST)

Thanks to you, Greg!!!--Aschlafly 00:01, 14 November 2007 (EST)

Refs

Should I list the reference I used? --~BCSTalk2ME 09:40, 14 November 2007 (EST)
That's not necessary. Better would be to insert this category into the entries: [[Category:legal terms]]. Thanks! --~BCSTalk2ME 09:47, 14 November 2007 (EST)
Great! I just don't want them to use our refs! --~BCSTalk2ME 09:47, 14 November 2007 (EST)

Wo! what happened with the sig? --~BCSTalk2ME 09:47, 14 November 2007 (EST)

Never mind. It was a nowiki problem! --~BCSTalk2ME 09:47, 14 November 2007 (EST)

Abednego

Perhaps Abednego would be interested in joining the team Mr. Schlafly? --~BCSTalk2ME 11:54, 14 November 2007 (EST)

I have looked through his/her contribs and they seem like a great candidate if they want to join the contest. --~BCSTalk2ME 11:59, 14 November 2007 (EST)

Perhaps Philip J. Rayment? --~BCSTalk2ME 12:53, 14 November 2007 (EST)
