Annie Besant

Annie Besant was a prominent Fabian Socialist, Theosophist, and member of the Indian National Congress.

She started traveling to India as early as 1893, but in 1907 she was elected President of the Theosophical Society and relocated there permanently.[1]

In 1917 she was elected as President of the Indian National Congress.
