Arlington, Virginia is a suburb of Washington, D.C., located in the state of Virginia. While it is commonly considered to be a city, it is legally a county containing no incorporated cities or towns. The county covers approximately 26 square miles and has a population of approximately 206,800 as of January 1, 2008, giving it a population density of about 8,000 persons per square mile.[1]
