Ashikaga Shogunate

The Ashikaga Shogunate (足利幕府 Ashikaga bakufu) was the second of the three shōgunates that ruled feudal Japan, named after the Ashikaga clan. It ruled from 1336 until it was overthrown in 1573, when Ashikaga Yoshiaki was driven from Kyoto.
