Battle of Olpae

The Battle of Olpae (426 B.C.) was part of the Second Peloponnesian War between the Greek city-states of Athens and Sparta. The Athenian general Demosthenes was able to achieve a rare ground victory over the numerically superior Spartan forces by enticing them into an ambush.
