Biography, a detailed description or account of someone's life. Biographies are written stories of a person's life that were written by someone else, while an autobiography is a person's story written by themselves.[1]

Since 1917, the "Pulitzer Prize for Biography or Autobiography" is awarded for a distinguished and appropriately documented biography or autobiography by an American author.

Study a person's life and you learn about the times in which that person lived; examine a historical period, and you will discover the great people who influenced the times in which they lived. William Manchester.[2]
