Guangzhou, a city in China, is also known as Canton in English, Cantão in Portuguese and Cantón in Spanish. Canton is a port near Hong Kong. Both are situated at the mouth of the Pearl River.

"Canton" was the convenient romanisation of the "Guangdong" name. Guangzhou is the capital of this Chinese province.
