Carl Pavano

Carl Anthony Pavano is a Major League Baseball pitcher for the New York Yankees. After he graduated from Southington High School in 1994, he was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in 13th Round of the Major League Baseball players draft. Boston traded him to the Expos in a deal that brought Pedro Martinez to Boston. He pitched four seasons with the Expos. In 2004, he had his best season with the Florida Marlins and won 18 games with an ERA of 3.00 and 139 strikeouts. After becoming a free agent following the 2004 season, he was signed by Yankees on December 20, 2004. Since he joined the Yankees, he has not played in more then 17 games per season due to numerous injury's. With a ten million dollar salary in 2007, he won only one game for the Yankees before having surgery on his right forearm. His contract with the Yankees extends though the 2008 season.
