Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge (born Catherine Elizabeth "Kate" Middleton, January 9, 1982), is the wife of Prince William, Duke of Cambridge. The couple met whilst studying at St Andrews University in Scotland.

She married Prince William on April 29, 2011, in a ceremony at Westminster Abbey in London. The day was marked by a public holiday in the United Kingdom.

On December 3, 2012, it was announced that the Duchess was pregnant with the couple's first child. She gave birth to a boy on July 22, 2013. Named George Alexander Louis, he is the third in line to the throne.
