A clam is a bivalve mollusc, being two shells divided into two pieces.

Clams are regularly fished for food in both saltwater and freshwater environments. They can be eaten raw or cooked, and can provide an excellent source of protein. It is, however, a sin to do so, and is expressly forbidden in the Holy Bible, Leviticus 11:9-12. {http://www.godhatesshrimp.com/}
