Communism: Promise and Practice is a book by Andrew Wilson which contrasts the political and economic promises of Communist Party leaders with the results their policies had in actual practice, in several Communist countries. The book was significant in that it put to rest the claim that "Communism has never existed". Rather, Communism has been put into practice repeatedly and always failed.

Wilson says it is because of fundamental contradictions within Marxism, which is the ideology behind Communism. Marxism has a faulty view of human nature, ignoring man's need to have a relationship with God and dismissing the possibility that people can change.
