From Conservapedia
Consent of the governed is held by the Declaration of Independence to be what governments derive their just powers from. A 2010 Rasmussen poll found that 23% of Americans believe that the U.S. Government has the consent of the governed, with most liberal voters (58%) thinking the federal government has the consent of the governed, and most moderates (57%) and most conservatives (84%) disagreeing.[1]
