The central belief in Christianity is that Jesus Christ died for the sins of all mankind. Thus the path to Heaven and God is through Christ alone. Given that God sent His only begotten Son to save humanity, the event leading to Christ's crucifixion and death were anticipated. Many Christians still believe that the Jews killed Christ, using Romans (or others) to do the deed [1]. If the Jews were indeed responsible for killing Christ (I understand that this is NOT true), were they not doing God's bidding? After all, was not Christ's human sacrifice to save humanity from our sins? Why is that even after 2000 years, there is still simmering and often overt anti-semitism? And why is it that the children of Abraham - Jews, Christians and Muslims forget their common ancestry? kchittur

I've heard the same said about Judas-- that he made the ultimate sacrifice-- his own eternal soul in order to fulfill Jesus's plans. Or something like that. Also, I'm not sure if it's policy here, but it'd be helpful if you signed your posts with four tildes. IMFromKathlene 03:37, 20 March 2007 (EDT)
(Oops, yes, I should have signed my name - policy OR not ...I noticed that someone edited MY post (look above) by adding the reference to biblegateway - but he/she DID NOT sign his/her name - It is one thing not to sign your name to your own post, quite another (worse IMHO) to edit someone's and not take credit/blame - so whoever posted that reference to biblegate, 'fess up) kchittur 7:35, 20 March 2007 (CDT)
Sorry! Thought this was an article page. Didn't realise it was folks comments. I thought the Discussion page was for that. I'm confused.
"If I be wicked, woe unto me; and if I be righteous, yet will I not lift up my head. I am full of confusion; therefore see thou mine affliction;" (Job 10:15)

And your point is? kchittur 07:55, 20 March 2007 (CDT)
How do we reconcile these two passages?
No man hath seen God at any time (John 1:18) [2]
the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. (Exodus 33:11) [3] RobS 11:41, 28 March 2007 (EDT)
Remember that the Living God is a Trinity. It is probable that Moses spoke to another member of the Trinity and not to God the Father, whom no one has ever seen.Bohdan 23:23, 31 March 2007 (EDT)
we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned....16For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ. [4]
IOW, no nartural man hath seen God at any time. Moses had the mind of Christ. RobS 01:35, 1 April 2007 (EDT)

First we must define what a "Jew" is. An ethnicity, religion, or cultural group. Also, Semites aren't all Jews. A Semite is anyone who speaks a Semitic language. Semitic languages include: Hebrew, Arabic, Amharic, Maltese, Akkadian, and Tingrinya. neocorporatist

I have always felt such disgust when I hear the naive and ignorant spout "Jews killed my Christ!" Not only disgust at their blatant anti-Jewish sentiments, but at the most basic level I am disgusted by their complete ignorance. Saying "Jews killed Jesus" is rednered meaningless when one takesd into account the fact that Jesus was a Jew, living in Jewish lands, subject to Jewish law of the time (when it was convenient for Rome that is...). Some ignoramuses scream "The Jews killed Jesus!" to incite "righteous" indignation and scorn towards Jews when truth in fact stating "Jews killed Jesus" is no more poignant and special than saying "the British killed Oliver Cromwell." To put it simply, it is one big "DUH!" Jros83 21:37, 22 June 2007 (EDT)

Listen! I'm prbably the only jew on this site right now. Since the majority of you have brought up the the whole jews killed Jesus, I have to bring up the fact that the only people living in eretz yisrael at the time were jews and romans. So please talk about something besides the bible, like the holocaust, for instance!-- user_talk:Irish16
