Conservapedia talk:Blocking policy refinement panel proceedings
An unsolicited comment can be read here, for all who are interested. Since I'm not a sysop, I have no voice in the matter, but I at least hope that some of you will take a few minutes to consider my ideas about the block policies:

Why
Why is it that I am unable to serve on this panel? I put my name down earlier on a different page but have had it reverted here. I have already made headway on policy. What is the problem? MaxFletcher 17:24, 15 August 2011 (EDT)
- I didn't know you had blocking rights. My apologies. I am going to contact a few fellow Sysops and see if an exception will be made for people who have created a lot of original content. Personally, I think as a general principle, these people should be on the panel if they wish to be. Conservative 17:36, 15 August 2011 (EDT)
- Fine by me, cheers! MaxFletcher 17:38, 15 August 2011 (EDT)

Scattered comments
In the last day or two, I have scattered some comments about blocking policy all over this wiki. I'd have to locate this and consolidate them. I don't have time to rewrite or condense them. (Hint: someone could just copy and paste, if there's anything there that looks good.) --Ed Poor Talk 17:10, 17 August 2011 (EDT)
I'm not really wanting to contribute to these proceedings, but there is one relevant issue which I've just mentioned to Aschlafly. When users are blocked, they see a screen suggesting they email the user that blocked them. If it's agreed that that won't be policy, the screen ought to be amended accordingly.--CPalmer 07:30, 18 August 2011 (EDT)
- http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:$wgBlockAllowsUTEdit – Would enabling blocked users to appeal via their talk page be an acceptable option? Currently, this setting is set to "false" (the default) here, so blocked users can't use their talk page, unlike Wikipedia. If this setting is set to "true", a sysop may still deny a blocked user access to his or her talk page by unchecking the "Allow this user to edit own talk page while blocked" box. Finding the Email of a sysop was an issue I had when I attempted to appeal my block. --Michaeldsuarez 21:39, 21 August 2011 (EDT)
