The Coptic Church of Egypt is one of the oldest denominations of Christianity, originating in Alexandria, Egypt in the 1st century. [1]
The Coptic Church of Egypt is a non-Chalcedonian Church and is similiar to the Eastern Othodox Church in ethos, lifestyle, and worship.
Although most of Egypt presently follows Islam, a strong remnant of the Coptic Church persists to this day in Egypt. Due to radical Islam, persecution of the Copic Church has increased in recent years.
