The Daily Star is a British daily tabloid newspaper. It is a downmarket sibling of the Daily Express and focuses on celebrities, sports and popular television series. It derives much of its revenue from advertising pornographic websites and premium-rate pornographic telephone services. Politically the paper is right-wing. First published in 1978, the Star was the first new national British newspaper to be introduced since the Daily Mirror in 1903.
