Dancing with the Stars

Dancing with the Stars is a reality television show produced in the United States in which celebrities partner up with professional ballroom dancers and compete against each other in weekly elimination rounds to determine a winner. Dancing with the Stars is the U.S. version of the international show, Strictly Come Dancing. The celebrities perform choreographed dance routines which are judged by Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli. The show runs for several weeks, and each week viewers are given the opportunity to phone in their vote for their favorite dance couples during a (typically) 30 minute period following the conclusion of the show. The three judges give a cumulative score that counts for half of their overall score. The results are announced the following night, and each week, the dance couple with the least number of votes (a combination of the judges' scores and viewer votes) leaves the show. The group of dancers decreases each week, and finally, the one dance couple who remains wins the mirror ball trophy.
The cohosts are Tom Bergeron and Samantha Harris.
