David McCullough

David McCullough (born July 7, 1933) is a historical biographer known for works such as Truman (1992), John Adams (2001), and 1776 (2005). The book Truman was adapted into a TV film in 1995, where H.S. Truman is played by Gary Sinise, and the book John Adams was adapted into a television miniseries in 2008, where Adams is played by Paul Giamatti. McCullough has also appeared on the PBS television programs "American Heritage" and "Smithsonian World". There is also a documentary about McCullough titled David McCullough: Painting With Words (2008).
