Debate:Who deletes entire discussion items from here? And why?

From Conservapedia

So, who is uncomfortable with certain topics of discussion? Are some topics disallowed? User:Seekcommon

I think they are being deleted because no one's posting on them so they are just taking up bandwidth. Sulgran 20:32, 9 April 2007 (EDT)

I find that explanation unsatisfactory. I have a feeling that some discussions that are not quite what the moderators/whoever want, they will disappear. User:Seekcommon

If no one is posting, by definition they don't really use bandwidth. I believe it was an admin move, and probably just as you think Seekcommon, the topics were deemed inappropriate for CP. What I don't understand is the clumsiness of 1. not removing them from the list, and 2. not putting some sort of note on the deleted debate page. Leading to this sort of questioning wonder... awe, even, at their power. Human 20:44, 9 April 2007 (EDT)
Someone (Ford?) said "You can have any color car you want, as long as it's black" - So, anyone can post anything they want, as long as admins say that is OK (I am talking about topics under "Debate" - perhaps the word "Debate" does not exist in the Conservapedia? Will find out soon enough, my clock has startedUser:Seekcommon 10 April 2007
There should be exactly 100 debate topics at any time. When a new debate topic is posted, the one whose last edit occured least recently should be archived. Teresita 09:41, 10 April 2007 (EDT)
That is fascinating... I wonder where that rule came from? Anyway, they aren't being archived, the "missing" (red linked) debates are in most cases simply vanished, with no explanation anywhere. I don't mind one way or another, but it is nice for people to see where things went and why. Human 13:14, 10 April 2007 (EDT)
I've deleted a trollbaiting debate or two. Honestly, debate is alright, but we shouldn't be having debates about whether Hitler should have just killed the Jews, or black people too. That kind of stuff is inappropriate.--Elamdri 12:00, 11 April 2007 (EDT)
Agreed absolutely. Some of the deleted topics are just silly. I don't know why their red links still exist. Also, ones titled things like "Was the media attention needed?" (although it is under CP topics now), which has not been created, are pointless unless someone actually starts the page and sets up the framework of discussion. I'm still planning to delete the redlinked discussions soon unless someone objects. I do like that the topics have been groups by general subject now. Very good idea! Human 13:12, 11 April 2007 (EDT)
you may think that, but there is a "funny mabey?" section that has just silly topics and none of them are deleted (that i can tell) Greenmeanie 00:13, 16 May 2008 (EDT)

Of all the online encyclopedias that I am aware of, conservapedia in unique in its section of debate topics. This, in itself, is a blessing, and we should be grateful for this opportunity given to us by Andrew Schlafly. Although troll-bating and hate-filled topics should be deleted, valid discussions should be kept. There should be complete support for free speech, but not hate speech.
