The depersonalization of modern society stems from atheism, along with a refusal to apply rational thought to ethical issues.

Ironically, the first thing atheists do when presenting their philosophy is to declare that they are "being rational" in contrast to "irrational" religious believers, whom they condemn for having faith. Meanwhile, atheists have a negative faith of their own: they assert the non-existence of God without any proof. Their justification for this irrationality is the principle that lack of evidence for something is a sufficient reason for believing that it does not exist. That this is unscientific does not bother them, which makes their irrationality obvious.
