Diablo (ESRB rating: M) is an action RPG computer game created by Blizzard Entertainment. It contains, among other questionable material, occultism and violence. In this game, "Diablo" is name of the "Lord of Terror", a demonic being of vast power who bears a resemblance to modern representations of Satan, but whose character and behavior are somewhat different.

Strange occurrences have being happening in the town of Tristram, and mercenaries and heroes have started appearing in town to win glory and wealth. The disturbance seems to be emanating from the local church. The player takes one of three classes: Warrior, Sorcerer, and Rogue (a blending of magic and weaponry).

The game starts in the church and its basement, but soon, catacombs are revealed deep underground, and the farther one goes, the more warped the architecture becomes, until it's clear that you are exploring structures that were not part of the church itself. The player character eventually ends up in Hell itself, and battles and defeats Diablo.
