Dragon Ball Z is a anime by famous mangaka Akira Toriyama. It was animated by Toei Doga(now Toei Animation) and it had 291 episodes, but in the Funimation dub/version it removed 14 episodes making it 277 episodes, but on the re dub it had 276. It later had a re re dub which had 290 Episodes. It first aired from April 26, 1989 to January 31, 1996. It has a sequel named Dragon Ball GT.
History
The series continues the mysterious adventures of Adult Goku who, along with his companions, defend the Earth and other fictional planets against various supervillains. While the original Dragon Ball anime followed Goku through childhood into adulthood, Dragon Ball Z parallels his adult life with the maturation of his first child, Son Gohan, while Z also does the maturation of his second child, Son Goten, but not fully. The series also gives focus to the evolution of his rivals, Piccolo and Vegeta, from evil to good, with the former's evolution ocurring early in the series and latter's spanning across the entire series. The separation between the series is also significant as Z is more action themed, while Dragon Ball is more comedy themed, but the later sagas in Dragon Ball become a little like Z, but not as much.
Characters
Son Goku - He is now grown up and has 2 children. He is the strongest warrior in the universe. He is a saiyan warrior.
Son Gohan - Son Goku's first child. He is Half-Human Half-Saiyan Breed and also the first one in the series.
Son Goten - Son Goku's second child. He is a Half-Human Half-Saiyan Breed and also the younger brother of Son Gohan.
Piccolo - A friend of Goku. In Dragon Ball he was the enemy and evil but he changed and became good.
Vegeta - The Saiyan Prince and former rival and one of Goku's best friends.
Bulma - Vegeta's wife. She is now an adult who is a great inventor.
Trunks - Vegeta and Bulma's first child and only son. His best friend is Son Goten.
Future Trunks - An Alternate Timeline version of Trunks.
Krillin - Goku's best friend. He marries Android 18 and has one child with her.
Yajirobe - A fat person who now aids the Z Warriors(Goku's Team) He comes and gives them Senzu Beans.
Yamcha - A Z fighter and Bulma's Ex-Boyfriend.
Tienshinhan - His Best friend is Chaozu and Yamcha. He is a skilled Z Fighter.
Chaozu - Tienshinhan's best friend and aid.
Chi-Chi - Wife of Son Goku and Mother of Gohan and Goten.
Master Roshi - Goku's former teacher. He is an old man who is a pervert always looking at woman's panties.
Oolong - An Selfish Greedy Perverted Pig.
Pu'ar - Yamcha's best friend and aid.
Mr. Hercule Satan - Father of Videl and Father-In Law to Son Gohan.
Videl - The Wife of Gohan and Mother to Pan.
Uranai Baba - Master Roshi's older sister.
Dende - The new god of Earth and Cousin to Piccolo. He is Kami's successor. He is the same age as Gohan.
Gyumao - The Father of Chi-Chi.
Mr. Popo - An Immortal Being who lives with Dende.
Karin - a 800 year old cat who is immortal and lives in his tower, Karin's Tower.
Kami - The Good Half of Piccolo's father. He is the former god of earth. He is later assimilated with Piccolo.
King Kai - The Watcher of the Galaxy. He tells Goku what to do sometimes.
Nappa - Vegeta's former best friend. Vegeta kills him when Vegeta knows that he doesn't need Nappa anymore.
Raditz - The Evil Brother of Goku.
Android 17 - The Twin brother of Android 18.
Android 18 - The Twin Sister of Android 17. She marries Krillin and has one child with him.
Freeza - Destroyed the Saiyans Homeworld Planet Vegeta. Killed by Goku but then later found alive and killed by Future Trunks.
Cell - An Creation of Dr. Gero. Brother of Android 17 and Android 18.
Majin Buu - A Evil being created by Bibidi and Babidi.
Shenlong - The Guardian of The Dragon Balls.
Marron - The Daughter of Krillin and Android 18.
Pan - The Grand-Daughter of Son Goku and Daughter of Gohan and Videl.
Bulla - The Second child of Vegeta and Bulma and only daughter of Vegeta and Bulma. Younger Sister to Trunks.
