EMILY's List is the most influential special interest group in the United States, channeling tens of millions of dollars each election cycle to politicians who support taxpayer-funded abortion as well as partial-birth abortion. The name "EMILY" is an acronym for "Early Money Is Like Yeast Rising," which recognizes the increased influence that early political donations have in influencing election outcomes, because the need by candidates for early donations to get their campaigns started is particularly great.

"For a candidate to be considered for funding from EMILY's List there are three requirements: The candidate must be a woman; she must be a Democrat; and she must support unrestricted access to taxpayer-funded abortion-on-demand."[1]
