Elizabeth H. Roberts is the 68th and current (Democrat) Lieutenant Governor of the state of Rhode Island. She is Rhode Island's first female Lt. Governor.[1] Before being elected to the Lt. Governor position she served in the Rhode Island State Senate for five terms. She is a graduate of Brown University and received a MBA degree in healthcare management from Boston University.[2]
Personal
Elizabeth H. Roberts husband, Thomas H. Roberts, comes from one of Rhode Island's major political families.[3] Together they have had two children.
Political Views
As Lieutenant Governor, Roberts has been a strong proponent for lifting restrictions on stem cell research.[4]
