Epimetheus was the Titan-god of hindsight in ancient Greek mythology. He was one of the sons of Iapetus along with Atlas, Prometheus and Menoetius. He and his brother Prometheus ("foresight") are considered to act as the representative of mankind. However, while Prometheus is characterized as ingenious and wise, Epimetheus is foolish and the father of excuses.
