Eric Wendel is a New York based artist. Eric studied at RISD from which he graduated in 2007 with a degree in painting. Eric was born in Houston, Texas in 1984, and attended high school in Sugarland, Texas, the home district of former Republican Congressman Tom DeLay.

Wendel's work deals mostly with the crisis of Christianity in a culture where fashion is more important than faith. His paintings have been criticized for their unadulterated mediation of the word of the Lord. His work has however struck a chord in the disenchanted souls of New York City and have attained critical success in culture at large.

Mr. Wendel is currently represented by D. Smith Gallery in New York, New York.
