Essay: Another agnostic pothead

The agnostic and evolutionist Carl Sagan was an avid marijuana smoker who claimed marijuana gave him scientific insights.[1] Sagan's agnosticism and avid pot smoking no doubt helped inspire Sagan's atheistic pseudoscience fantasy that evolution was a "fact".[2] The evolutionary position certainly has no real evidence in its favor and there is much evidence against it. Thomas Henry Huxley, the English biologist, known as "Darwin's Bulldog" for his vehement advocacy of Charles Darwin's theory of evolution, was an agnostic.

The Barna Group found concerning agnosticism and morality that those who hold to the worldviews of agnosticism or atheism in America were more likely, than theists in America, to look upon the following behaviors as morally acceptable: illegal drug use; excessive drinking; sexual relationships outside of marriage; abortion; cohabitating with someone of opposite sex outside of marriage; obscene language; gambling; pornography and obscene sexual behavior; and engaging in homosexuality/bisexuality.[3] Given the many diseases associated with homosexuality, the biblical prohibition against homosexuality is quite arguably one of the many examples where the Bible exhibited knowledge that was ahead of its time.

We don't smoke marijuana in Muskogee; We don't take our trips on LSD We don't burn our draft cards down on Main Street; We like livin' right, and bein' free." - Merle Haggard, Okie from Muskogee
