Ethenol, also known as vinyl alcohol, is a flammable chemical compound with a fruity odor. The chemical formula is CH2=CHOH, C2H3OH. Under normal conditions it tautomerizes to acetaldehyde. It is the first of the olefinic alcohols, and under its ester form, vinylacetate, is a common starting point for organic syntheses.
