Family Guy is an animated television program created by Seth MacFarlane. It contains adult themes, and is not appropriate for younger audiences. It details the life of "the Griffins," a fictitious family who live in Quahog, Rhode Island. It has similarities to The Simpsons which have been referenced and parodied on both shows.

Criticism

Due to its adult content, the Parents' Television Council has named it one of the worst programs on television.[1]

The show also has pervasive liberal themes. It also often takes demeaning treatment of creationists.[2]

The comedy aspect of Family Guy's writing has been criticized by the writers of South Park. One two-part South Park episode called Family Guy's jokes "irrelevant to the plot." The episode also showed Family Guy's writers as manatees who would put balls containing random ideas into a machine.
