Fate of the World
Fate of the World is a 2011 PC video game promoting global warming. It was developed and published by indie studio Red Redemption. In it the player takes the role of the newly elected leader of a global government that has been formed in 2020 in order to tackle the 'threat' of global warming. Gameplay takes place from 2020 up to 2200 with the world spilt into 11 different areas based roughly on current political boundaires (for example Canada and the USA are formed into the North America Zone). The overall objective of the game is too deal with future issues in order to improve global HDI. However the game is designed from an extremly liberal viewpoint with the main challenges coming from the 'impacts' of global warming such as sea level rise, increasing temperatures and species loss. In order to achieve their goals the player can choose from a range of legisation ranging from improving flood defences to save lives to covertly sterailising populations and overthrowing local governments who hold more conservative outlooks.
Liberal Propoganda Present in the Game
Peak Oil - Peak oil occurs in 2020 according to the game with peak gas, coal and uranium following shortly after, forcing the player to use renewables and less efficient alternatives such as electric cars.
Man made Global Warming - The entire premise of the game is built around the lie of anthropogenic climate change, in the game global emissions of CO2 directly corralate to global temperature.
Species Loss due to Climate Change - throughout the game unless costly measures are taken key species will go extinct with game highlighting their demise and laying the blame clearly on human emissions.
Acceptable Measures for fighting Climate Change - measures such as enforced sterailisation are offered as a choice to the player and indeed the game is hard to beat without using actions such as these.
Materialism - Materalistic societies are demonised in the game with capitalist countries such as America and Japan being far harder to manage and enact 'green' policies in compared to socialist states such as Europe and China.
Overall this game is another clear example of liberal propaganda hoping to indoctrinate people into believing the glabal warming lie and more worryingly increase their acceptance of horrific measures in order to 'prevent' the otherwise unavoidable catastrophe. Even more worrying however is that this game clearly shows the ideal liberal future, a single all powerful government with control over life and death that interferes in every part of a persons life in order to achieve their misguided goals.
