Fiction books are an invented or feigned narrative (an imaginative form of narrative).[1] Fiction is one of the two most general categories in the hierarchy that books are classified in (the other being non-fiction - a composition that its authors believe to be truthful).

Fiction differs from lying because the listener knows the story isn't true.
