Fomenko Chronology

Fomenko's New Chronology is a chronology of history proposed by Russian mathematician Anatoly Timofeevich Fomenko that claims that most of recorded Classical history never occurred but was rather a product of overactive historians who erroneously interpreted separate records as referring to the same people as referring to different historical figures. If Fomenko is correct then all of Carbon dating is completely untrustworthy.[1] Fomenko bases his evidence on what he argues are statistically improbable correlations in texts and astronomical discrepancies which he claims can only be explained by shortening the historical record.[2]

Fomenko's claims are not taken seriously by any scholar.
