Ford's Theatre

Ford's Theatre is the name of the theatre where Abraham Lincoln was shot on April 14, 1865. The assassin was John Wilkes Booth. The building was originally a Baptist church, but in 1861 John T. Ford turned it into a theatre. After Lincoln's assassination, the theatre closed for over one hundred years. It reopened in 1968. It is located at 511 10th Street, NW in Washington, D.C.

It is listed as a National Historic Site.
