The Fourth International was an international organisation of Trotskyist political parties founded in 1938 by Leon Trotsky to oppose the Stalinist-dominated Third International (Comintern) and to seek to bring about world revolution. Member organisations included the Socialist Workers Party of the USA and the Revolutionary Communist Party (UK). The Fourth International fragmented into rival factions in the 1950s.
