The Freedom of Choice Act is a bill introduced into Congress (2007-2009) in both the House and the Senate that would override state laws and make abortion legal and unrestricted in any way and at any time that an abortionist decides to perform one.

The bill was sponsored in the House of Representatives by Congressman Jerrold Nadler, and in the Senate, it was sponsored by Barbara Boxer and co-sponsored by Joe Lieberman, Dianne Feinstein, Frank Lautenberg and Hillary Clinton, among others.

Barack Obama, who is a fierce advocate of abortion, also supported it and promised to sign it into law.
