Gerald Walpin, Inspector General of the Corporation For National and Community Service, was fired by President Barack Obama after a corruption report he filed became an embarrassment to a friend of the president.

  • In this case, the evidence suggests that his White House fired a public official who refused to roll over to protect a Presidential crony.[1]

"I am now the target of the most powerful man in this country, with an army of aides whose major responsibility today seems to be to attack me and get rid of me," Walpin said.[2]
