Gunpowder
From Conservapedia
Gunpowder is one of man's most significant inventions. It is a chemical mixture which burns extremely rapidly, and was used as a propellant in early small arms and cannons. Experiments to improve the effectiveness and safety were some of the first true chemistry in the modern sense of the word. Formerly most (al)chemical experiments were obsessed with pursuing mystical and occult goals such as eternal life.
Gunpowder is still used today in weapons, fireworks, and special effects.
