Guy Gavriel Kay is a popular fantasy author. He was born in Weyburn, Saskatchewan on November 7, 1954. He is most famous for collaborating with Christopher Tolkien to edit The Silmarillion, a collection of J.R.R. Tolkien's stories detailing the history of Middle-earth prior to The Lord of the Rings. He is noted for incorporating themes from historical eras in his novels.
