H. Rap Brown

Jamil Abdullah al-Amin, also known as H. Rap Brown, is a notorious black nationalist Muslim. He is most famous for a statement he made when he took over the Black Power student group SNCC in the mid-1960s, where he said "Violence is as American as apple pie."

In 2000, he was tried and convicted of killing a cop, and received life imprisonment. He is also a cause celebre of the left, similar to fellow cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal.
