Hampton Gray was a Canadian fighter pilot of World War II. He was the last Canadian to die in action of World War II. Gray was killed by a combination of flak received from from anti aircraft guns based on land and Japanese battle ships. Gray was one of the few men to receive the Victoria Cross the highest declaration in in British and Canadian military. Gray is the only foreign soldier to have a monument made in his honor on Japanese soil. Grey also contributed in the sinking of German battleship the Tirpitz.
