Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is the third novel in the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. Harry believes that an escaped criminal named Sirius Black is trying to murder him. But Black ends up being innocent and he discovers that the person who betrayed his parents was another man named Peter Pettigrew, who Black had supposedly murdered but had faked his own death and was disguised as the pet rat of Harry's friend Ron Weasley.
A film version of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, directed by Alfonso Cuarón, was released in 2004. It was nominated for two Academy Awards.[1]
