Health scares provide fodder for TV networks looking to boost ratings, and environmental groups to boost donations. With rare exceptions, they generally have no basis.

Radio waves

A link between mobile phones and brain tumor risk has been promoted by alarmists, but is with little if any scientific foundation.[1] However, the World Health Organization says that there is a possibility it does cause this.[2]

  • It seems that they cannot cause cancer by directly damaging DNA.[3]
