Hector Avalos (born October 8, 1958, Mexico) is a professor of religious studies at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. He is an atheist and debated William Lane Craig on the topic of the historicity of the ressurection of Jesus at ISU in 2004. During the debate, professor Avalos did rather poorly because he began to use Ad Hominem attacks against Dr. Craig, rather than actually try to disprove Dr. Craig's arguments.
