The Holy Land is the area now called Israel, and for a long time Palestine. It is holy to three world religions, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. It has had one of the most violent, bloodstained, and tragic histories of any area of the world. Jews believe that true peace will not come to Israel until the coming of Moshiach.
