The choice of a homosexual lifestyle involves extreme selfishness and indolence. Deprived of parental love, homosexuals seek emotional comfort in the arms of their own sex and confuse sexuality for affection. Since they don't have the expense of raising children, they often have extra money for political activism. Without the prospect of enjoying an old age[1] with the supportive love of an extended family, they frequently engage in risky behaviors such as sadomasochism[2]
By choosing to engage in homosexual acts, some claim they risk depression and suicide.[1]. One blogger criticized the study. [3]
Some activists have quibbled about the meaning of the word "choice", asserting that they did not choose to become homosexuals or to have homosexual desires. With their arguments, they attempt to set up a false dichotomy between two propositions:
- Homosexuality is entirely a matter of choice
- Homosexuals have no choice about their sexual behavior at all
