The Horned Puffin resembles the Atlantic species of puffin, except for a ridge of hardened skin that rises vertically from above its eyes to the top of its head. According to the US Geological Survey, "about 1.2 million Horned Puffins breed in the North Pacific, almost exclusively in Siberia and Alaska."[1] In winter months, they can be found further south, almost down to the waters off the California coast.
